Funding a medical helicopter, airplanes and crew to serve the state of Oregon is a continuous challenge. Therefore, Air Life developed a Membership Program in 1987 to help underwrite operational costs.
 The Membership Program serves a dual purpose: It protects families from out-of-pocket air ambulance transportation expenses while helping offset expenses of our program. You, your spouse and your dependent children (under the age of 23 and living in your home) can enjoy the peace of mind that comes from being a Member while also helping support a nonprofit community service that flies for anyone in need.
Flight charges range from $4000 to over $8000, depending on transport distance. And while Air Life flies anyone in medical need, Member patients (who pay the low annual rate of $45 per member household) pay nothing out-of-pocket for their medically urgent transport. Air Life bills a Member's insurance carrier (if any) and accepts that payment as payment in full. For Members without insurance, Air Life absorbs the entire cost of the flight.
