When State Trooper James Hayes of Gilchrist was shot in the line of duty, the La Pine Fire District crew helped stabilize him for flight. The Air Life team landed at the La Pine Fire Station and flew James to the hospital. Fully recovered, James is back on duty. |
At 17, Rachel Smith was in a wreck that left her trapped in her car. The crew at Prineville Fire worked for more than two hours to extricate her from the wreckage while the Air Life team helped stabilize her for flight. Despite multiple injuries, Rachel recovered fully. |
