Kim Lundquist: An Early Arrival
photoKim Lundquist of Powell Butte had a tricky pregnancy with her son, Deag’lan. When Kim’s pre-eclamsia began to increase her chances of stroke and liver failure, her doctor induced labor more than five weeks before Kim’s due date.

But when the baby’s heart started to drop with each contraction, Kim’s doctor knew the new mom needed an emergency C-section—fast.

photoFortunately, Kim had a combo membership with Crook County Fire & Rescue and Air Life. That membership covered the out-of-pocket costs for Kim’s ride to Bend with Redmond Fire & Rescue.

Without hefty ambulance bills hanging over her head, Kim was free to focus on her healthy, new baby boy.
